Dear Paratha, I love you.

aloo-parathaAhh, paratha.  Who would think that your simplicity could be so awesome.  Flour, water, oil and salt.  Yet you’re awesome.

I’m currently on a paratha making kick, and even though mine come out looking like Africa or Europe vs. a round shape, they are still pretty damn tasty.  I’m still working on getting them to fluff a little more, but instead of giving up I’m going to continue trying.  So what if they’re a little too flat and look funny?  They still dip into my channa masala the same way!

I recently learned how to make them from Manjula’s Kitchen, a website run by a woman from India that consists of recipes and video demonstrations.  If you’re nervous at all about making bread go to her site and you’ll see how simple it is!  You can watch her make them step by step.

For a first entry this is rather random, but it’s about food, so we’re off to a good start.
